GrowthPath is a discipleship tracking application designed for churches. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with care, transparency, and respect.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register for GrowthPath, we collect:
- Full name
- Phone number (used for OTP authentication)
- Gender
- Church affiliation and church code
- Role within your church (Admin, Discipler, or Disciple)
Activity Data
As you use the app, we collect:
- Daily quest logs (devotion, Bible reading, prayer sessions)
- Reflection notes you choose to write
- Bible passages read and bookmarks
- Spiritometer (SM) scores and level progression
- Streak and consistency data
- Quiz scores
Communications
- Messages sent between disciples and disciplers within the app
- Church notifications sent by admins
Technical Data
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Usage patterns (anonymous analytics only)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the GrowthPath application
- Authenticate your identity via phone OTP
- Track and display your spiritual growth progress
- Enable communication between disciples and disciplers
- Generate AI-powered insights from your reflections using Claude AI
- Send church notifications from your admin
- Display church leaderboards within your congregation
- Provide disciplers and admins with growth reports for their members
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Information Sharing
Your data is shared only within the following contexts:
Within Your Church
- Your name, SM score, and streak are visible to other members of your church on the leaderboard
- Your discipler can see your activity logs, consistency, and reflection notes
- Your church admin can see all member data within their congregation
AI Processing
- Reflection notes are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalised insights
- This processing is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy
Service Providers
- Firebase (Google) — database and authentication services
- Anthropic — AI reflection analysis
- Expo — app distribution and build services
We never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase. We implement the following security measures:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Firebase Firestore security rules enforce strict access controls
- Phone authentication via OTP ensures only you can access your account
- We do not store passwords
5. Church Data Isolation
GrowthPath is built with strict church-level data isolation:
- Your data is only visible to members of your own church
- Church admins can only see and manage members within their own church
- Leaderboards, notifications, and groups are fully isolated per church
- No cross-church data sharing occurs at any level
6. AI Features & Your Data
GrowthPath uses Claude AI (by Anthropic) to provide personalised spiritual insights.
- When you write a reflection, the text is sent to Claude AI for analysis
- Claude generates an insight and a personalised Bible verse based on your reflection
- The result is displayed to you and saved to your personal dashboard
- Your reflection content is processed by Anthropic subject to their usage policies
You can choose not to write reflections, in which case no content is sent to AI services.
7. Children's Privacy
GrowthPath is intended for use by individuals aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us at hello@growthpath.app.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
